30-minute guided tour of Cape Bruny Lighthouse, built in 1836, heritage-listed, decommissioned 1997. Original lens from 1903 still on site. Climb 72 steps (with handrail) to the balcony. • This is a guided road and ferry tour in an air-conditioned bus. It is not a cruise or boat tour.
• Departs Hobart at 7am. Returns approximately 5:00 to 5:30pm.
• Your specific pickup time and location is confirmed after booking. Pickup from locations other than the main Hobart meeting point may be earlier than 7am.
• Bring a small day bag or backpack. Suitcases and large bags cannot be accommodated on the bus.
• Bruny Island is often cooler than Hobart. Bring warm layers and a rain jacket even in summer.
• Wear comfortable, closed-toe walking shoes.
• Due to safety regulations, children under 5 years old cannot climb the Cape Bruny Lighthouse stairs but can walk around the base inside.
• Bring a reusable water bottle. Water is available on the bus for refills throughout the day.
• Dietary requirements and food allergies must be noted at time of booking. Gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian options available at lunch. Gluten-free biscuits available at morning tea.
• Children under 5 cannot climb Cape Bruny Lighthouse stairs. They may visit the museum and walk outside the base under adult supervision.
